Walka, Walka, Walka

Hardly a day goes by where I don't take a walk. And since I'm currently residing in the Phoenix area, it's hard to make excuses for not walking. Here's the problem... according to walkscore.com, I live in a "car-dependent" neighborhood with a score of only 31 (out of 100). I chuckle when I think that these suburbs are called "Master Planned" yet require you to own a vehicle to get to where you want to go. (Our daily coffee shop is 2½ miles away!)

Thank goodness my walks are mostly for exercise and my dog Elli, not necessarily for going to school or running errands. I am glad that there is plenty of breathtaking scenery to keep me content and there is always a new path or trail to take...which keeps things interesting. Good luck Suburbia in making it in the next 100 years.

Interesting that there is a website for walkability of towns. You must spend alot of time online to find all this neato stuff. I spend too much time online, if I spent the same amount of time walking, I'd be halfway to your house by now...

Most of the website I visit are from suggestions by my friends. Your comment made me think about how often I visit new websites and surprisingly, it is relatively low. As much as I love exploration, I have a tendency to settle. Glad you liked this site though...and thanks for the drewbe.com SHOUTOUT on your facebook page.
